Bloom Clerkenwell project in London is completed

Bloom Clerkenwell is an office building with retail spaces, private and communal terraces and amenity space, right next to the Farringdon West station.

Eye catching with its red, beige engobe and natural clay Italian terracotta tile façade, which gives it a contemporary visual identity. The average size of one tile is 90 x 46 cm, with the largest tiles reaching 120 x 60 cm in size and 40 kg in weight. These could be the largest terracotta tiles in London, as far as we know. The total façade area reaches 6 500 m2.

This project has specific criteria to be met – one of them is EN 14019 standard that defines safety in order not to endanger people. The other criterion is a specific requirement defined by the client – the cleaning of the building’s glass will be carried out by industrial climbers; therefore, the glass has to be adjusted to such activities. Read more about it here: Pendulum impact test for an efficient facade solution for the project in the centre of London.

This facade is also a great example of our engineering team`s technical competences as this high spec project located in central London is built over the new Elizabeth line`s Farringdon station.
